‘Throw’-Back Thursday - SLAP Tears and the Green Bay Packers

Do the Packers have a shot this year??

For this ‘Throw’-Back Thursday we are highlighting Brogan’s comeback after a SLAP tear in his right shoulder. We will share some information on SLAP tears and also reveal a unique fact about Brogan.

Brogan is a high school baseball player who suffered a SLAP tear while playing football last summer. What’s a SLAP tear? It’s a common shoulder injury in baseball that involves tearing of the labrum. These can be tricky for baseball players. But you can usually avoid surgery with the proper rehab plan.

Before coming to MVP, Brogan was working with another physical therapy company where he had made some progress, but continued to have pain with hitting and was still unable to throw or pitch. At MVP we have a unique skill set and expertise when it comes to baseball physical therapy and how to get back to 100%. We provided Brogan with a customized strength program and return to throwing progression. A few months later he was able to smoothly transition into pitching lessons and performance training with Brower Baseball. This summer he was back pitching, hitting, and competing at 100% with no pain!

Brogan dedicated himself to the rehab process and it paid off. He was a pleasure to work with. Fun fact about Brogan - he has worn some kind of Green Bay Packers clothing every day since he was born (I think). He still believes the Packers have a shot at winning this year……yikes.

If you’re interested in a similar program that Brogan has for his shoulder, let’s chat! We want to help you recover AND prevent injuries to stay on the field.

We appreciate you being a part of the MVP family!
